Volcano Knurl Pattern - Volcano-Shaped Surface

Volcano knurling is doubtlessly the most effective and comfortable type of bar knurling today. You will find this knurl pattern on the most modern bars. In contrast to one sharp point pattern that can be found on bars with the so-called "mountain" knurling pattern, volcano knurling offers a large contact surface on which the skin of your hand can rest comfortably. The result is that the bar sits firmly in the user's hands and nothing sharply pokes into the skin, unlike when using the sharp- pointed mountain knurl bar.

Some bars are not patterned entirely. However, this significantly limits the area where the bar can be firmly gripped. With our training bar, the knurling continues all the way to the sleeves, so you can grab the bar wherever you prefer, and your grip will still be firm.

Testing of the Bars

We test each bar using X-ray in order to detect defects that may naturally occur during production. Alignment of the bar, heat treatment, as well as surface treatment can cause the steel structure to have fine defects. Such bar can then bend over time. On average, every tenth bar is invisibly damaged in such a way. Fortunately, we dispose of these bars right away during production.
From each batch of steel for bar production, we randomly select a few samples, which we then statically test. We bend the steel with a force of 350 kg for at least an one-hour period. Then we measure whether it has returned to its original state (if it has not bent), with an accuracy of tenths of a millimeter.
